Preparation: 

Begin by cleaning and organizing your space: As with any ritual, it’s important to begin with a clean and organized area. Cleanse your space with any incense of your choice. My personal go-to is mugwort or cedar.

Create an Altar:

• Use black, orange, red, or dark purple cloths to decorate.
• Place seasonal symbols like pumpkins, apples, nuts, dried leaves, or autumn flowers.
• Set up photos or personal items of your ancestors or loved ones who have passed away.
• Add candles (white, black, or orange are traditional) and any tools you use for ritual work.
• Incorporate protective herbs like rosemary, vervain or Anise.

Gather Supplies:

• Candles: Black for banishing, white for protection, and orange for courage.
• A cauldron or fireproof bowl.
• Offerings for the ancestors: bread, wine, apples, flowers, a glass of water, their favorite foods, desserts or candies.
• Your preferred divination tools (tarot, runes, pendulum, etc.)
• A notebook and pen for journaling insights.

RITUAL: 

1. Light candles and burn some incense on your altar to signify the beginning of the beginning of the ritual.
2. Light a black or white candle dedicated to your ancestors.
3. Speak their names aloud or in your heart, inviting them to be present.
4. Offer food or drink, such as water, bread, wine, or cider, as a token of respect. If you really don’t know what they would like, you can always ask them beforehand and they will guide you.

Chant the following: 

“I honor you, my ancestors, known and unknown, but only those who come with purity and for my highest good. I invite you to join me as I remember, reflect, and celebrate this time of the year.”

Sit with them for a while and simply embrace their presence.

• Use your preferred method of divination to gain insight. This is a powerful time for divination, so ask questions related to the coming year, any challenges, or messages your ancestors may have. Mercury governs our ideas, communication, plans, and strategic thinking. A cazimi moment is a gift: when a planet is in perfect conjunction with the Sun (at the exact same degree to the minute), it is briefly endowed with the Sun’s enormous power of illumination and life-force energy. During Mercury’s cazimi, we experience a moment of clarity so brilliant it’s almost blinding in its intensity. In Libra, Mercury’s focus is on balance, beauty, justice, and relationships. As a result, we may receive a blast of insight, a crystal-clear idea, or a message that unlocks our current frustrations—just in time to provide clear perspective before Wednesday’s transformative eclipse.

Eclipses act as celestial redirects. Where your life choices and path have diverged, an eclipse will course-correct—whether you like it or not. It is July and it is one hot month in the cosmos. Several outer planets have started their yearly retrograde spin: Neptune, Pluto and Saturn.

We begin the month in emotional Cancer season and end it off in flamboyant Leo.

Of course, our moons are moonin’ and we have the New Moon in Cancer and the second of the two Full Moons in Capricorn.

July should be quite interesting for us all . . .

Aries (3/20 – 4/21) – Aries, this month feels very karmic for you. It’s giving the Devil card BUT you are embodying that self awareness like no other and ready to take action to make change. Ask for Divine assistance to see you through this process of changes.

Taurus (4/22- 5/20) – Taurus, you are still enjoying Cancer season. You bring a certain grounding to the emotions that can be overflowing. Being home and resting your energy has really brought you some much needed balance. Around Leo season, you’ll be ready to be social again.

Cancer, the Mother of the Zodiac and one of the Divine Feminines, ruled by the Moon herself is the 4th sign of the Zodiac and a Cardinal Water sign. Together, the Moon and Cancer rule over the fourth house, the “House of Family” which also includes our roots, ancestors and lineages that make up who we are.

Cancer is the empath of the zodiac, their feels are so deep and so feely and so much, but that is also their gift.

Gemini, I’ll say it again and again, is the most misunderstood sign of the Zodiac.

The 3rd sign on the astro wheel, Gem is ruled by Mercury and together, the two rule the third house, the “House of Communication.”

Gemini is a mutable air sign whose shadows really seem to rub others the wrong way. Being an Air sign, everything is mental for them. Their journey is about getting out of their head and into their heart/soul and body. This makes things like emotions very confusing for them because they process everything like an idea, mentally, when emotions are simply meant to be felt.

They really aren’t all bad…

• Gemini is the conversationalist,
• The best host,

Taurus is a nice soft landing after the wild ride this past Aries season took us on.

Let’s jump right in. . .

Taurus is a fixed Earth sign and the second sign of the zodiac. She is ruled by Lady Venus, making her one of the Divine Feminines, and the two rule the second house, the “House of Values” together.

• So much to unpack in the second house! It’s more than just money, pretty things, flowers and lobster tails (although TBH that’s a pretty sweet part of it).
• It’s our possessions, our values and who/what we value – mostly ourselves, which of course is a part of our self-worth, which of course, the greater picture there is SELF-LOVE.

Taurus are known to be the immovable mountain. They take a long time to think things out and draw conclusions, so they don’t like to change (in general) once they are set.

They also hate doing things twice or going back and doing things again, hence they take their sweet ass time… haha.

They live life as a sense-based experience, enjoying the colors of nature, the smells of delicious food baking, the feelings of the sun on their bodies, the taste of fine wine. . . they appreciate these things in life.

And while they can be some of the most grounded and down to earth people you ever meet, they love to indulge. Self-care is necessary for them. As is a creative outlet.
