Cancer Season 2021 By: Erin The Urban Mermaid
June 22, 2021This year, Cancer season is being welcomed in by the Summer Solstice in the Northern Hemisphere, bringing us feelings of warmth, joy and abundance which is what we at FireandLux wish for all of our devoted readers – And to hold on to that energy while the Sun is in Cancer from June 21st – July 22nd.
Cancer is the Mother of the Zodiac, she is ruled by the Moon and together they rule the 4th house, the “House of Family”. Cancer is the nurturer, the domestic diva, the queen of her castle, our Divine Feminine, the caretaker, the intuitive, the empath. She is Queen of Cups energy. Cancer itself is a Cardinal Water sign so they are the ones who take action based on their emotions. And emotions are key with Cancer, “I feel” being the most appropriate mantra for this time.
During this time it is important for us to listen to ourselves, how are things/people/situations making us feel? It is a great time to be strengthening our intuition by honoring what we are feeling. This is connecting to your Divine Feminine. Allow yourself to be vulnerable. Let your emotions ebb and flow like the tides.
It is also a time to be nurturing ourselves, showing ourselves the love we give to others. Some great ways to do that are: making our own (and eating) nourishing foods, moving our bodies, spending time in nature especially by the water, making the time for meditation, complimenting yourself and getting good rest and sleep. It is also a time to spend connecting with family, so remember to carve out some time for them too.
Our emotions can get very overwhelming during Cancer season, so while we want to honor them, we don’t want to be consumed by them, so grounding practices are particularly important. Cancer is known to be quite nostalgic and hold onto past memories. Again, this is fine, just as long as you aren’t doing this masochistically aka no self-sabotage! Cancer’s symbol is the crab, and like the crab, they tend to side step through conflict rather than face it head on. We all know by this point, the only way out is through, we have to face our shit head on.
So all moodiness aside, Cancer is the season of self-love and self-care FireandLux fam.
Take this time for YOU, and remember it isn’t selfish! Honoring yourself is for your highest and best, and this is the cycle for you to do just that.
