Mars X Capricorn by: Erin The Urban Mermaid

January 26, 2022 Off By Fire and Lux

On January 24, 2022, Mars, the Red Planet, joined Venus, Mercury and Pluto in the Earthly Sea Goat sign of Capricorn.

That is a lot of that Cappy energy! Mars will hang out in the 10th sign of the zodiac until March 6, 2022, and TBH, I’m liking this placement A  LOT.

Let’s get into it, shall we FireandLux Fam

Earth’s neighbor Mars, named after the God of War, is our action planet. It is a representation of the Divine Masculine, both in alignment and its shadows. Mars rules the first sign of the Zodiac, Aries, and together the two rule over the first house, the “House of Self” which is all things identity related.

Hello reflection! When you think like Mars thinks: how do I take action? What are my primal instincts? What am I in hot pursuit of? Think about your most primary and carnal instincts, war, impulse, power and strength.

Now let’s do a little Cappy re-Cappy 😉

Capricorn is the Father of the Zodiac and the ruler of our karma. Saturn is the natural ruler of Capricorn, the 10th sign of the zodiac and you guessed it! Together the two rule the 10th house, the “House of Social Status”, referring to your higher calling in life, your gift to the world as well as your reputation.

Capricorn is like that hard – ass father cracking the whip on us to stay motivated to achieve our goals. He can be hard, but he wants us to be our best selves in the end. I always find Cap’s to be rather elegant and classic, preferring tradition over trends. They are not scared of putting in the hard work to achieve BIG goals. Usually quite successful, they are always up for a challenge, are business minded, goal oriented and ambitious. They actually are quite wise and are known to be the old souls of the zodiac.

When out of alignment, Cap is boring, somber, materialic, money hungry, insensitive, worried about the image and rep and workaholics.

I am going to be honest, I am vibing the Cardinal energy of this transit. Ish is gonna get done!

Mars carries cardinal energy as it rules Aries, and Capricorn is a cardinal sign. I am really feeling a lot of stepping into your power and flexing it. It’s time to go for your goals, full speed ahead. You will probably feel very motivated and have a lot of energy to pursue whatever it is you want to attain. The word “leader” is basically screaming at me. This is a transit for the leaders to step up and embody their roles in the collective.

Use the energy of this transit to be very deliberate, very consistent, very persistent, very ruthless (you can do this compassionately!) very sure, very disciplined, very structured and very driven.

A lot of this energy, I feel for those making moves in their careers and if you have your business, this is a good time!

As for the relationship aspect of this transit, it’s a time for steadiness. You can still be hot and sexy, even in relationships that have stood the test of time. In fact, Mars in Cap wants you to actively pursue your partner and each other’s sexual appetite. This can lead to feelings of fulfillment, like a craving that was satisfied, and that feels good!

A few things to look out for during Mars’ time in Capricorn.

One, being extreme rigidity. Although neither Mars nor Cap are Fixed, Cap tends to get very routine oriented, especially if that routine brought a successful end result.

Another thing to watch out for is being super gung ho about going for something and burning out all your energy to really see it through, or not being able to give the final steps of it 100% because your energy isn’t there.

Also remember all work and no play is no fun at all. So even if you want to be ambitious and successful, stop to be present, stop to smell the roses and don’t forget to enjoy life.

Finally watch out for disappointment. Capricorn has very high standards. If something or someone isn’t reaching them, don’t get bent out of shape. Trust this has an underlying lesson for you to learn.

Alright FireandLux fam, go for goals! We can’t wait to see what transpires for you all!
