Scorpio Full Moon + Lunar Eclipse Guide

May 4, 2023 Off By Fire and Lux

The moon has officially moved into Scorpio/the eclipse portal (5/4/2023 – 5/5/2023)

Scorpio is the zodiac sign of

  • transformation
  • discovery
  • intensity
  • emotions
  • passion

These associations will be greatly amplified during this time, encouraging the collective to be more self-aware.

Scorpio is all about shadow work; thus, bringing all hidden matters to the surface.

  • What have we been avoiding?
  • Are there parts of ourselves that we have been running from?
  • Have we had that difficult conversation with our partners, friends or family members?

Similar to the death card in the Tarot, we are asked to face these difficult situations and the endings that may follow or the beginnings that await.

In Tarot, death tells us that a specific phase in our lives has reached its climax and new beginnings are just around the corner. We are being asked to let go of old ways and emerge into a more authentic and fulfilling way of life.

Facing these types of truths can be difficult; challenging our ability to recover from toxic attachments.

This full moon aids us in shedding old ways to make room for the new, especially with combined Lunar Eclipse.

Scorpio Full Moon Release Meditation Exercise:

  • Write down everything you wish to let go of. This can be fears, emotions, situations, people, memories, etcetera. Whatever you feel is keeping you stagnant or in a toxic cycle should be incorporated for this ritual.
  • Once your list is complete, read over it and visualize your life without these blockages.
  • When you feel ready, burn the paper with the flame of a black candle.
  • Next, on a new sheet of paper make a list of everything you wish to manifest. Read it carefully and visualize these desires coming to fruition. Keep this list under your pillow and reread it as often as you’d like until you have reached your goals.

WITCH-TIP for cleansing during Eclipse Season and a Full Moon:

CLEANSING BATH:

  • Agua de Florida (Florida Water) promotes powerful cleansing properties and is used to remove heavy vibrations. You can add Florida water to any cleaning supply and use it as a floor wash in order to clear out negative and stagnant energies in your home. Some will use Florida water as an offering when communicating with their ancestors. Florida water is used to cleanse objects such as ritual and altar supplies. Lastly, it can also be used for baths, foot soaks, laundry rinse and more.

Below is a mixture I have come to love when performing a cleansing bath ritual. (Please be cautious when using the mixture below as some may be more sensitive to these ingredients than others.

If you have sensitive skin I would first test it out by adding a drop or two of the oils on your hand prior to entering the bathtub.)

  1. 1 tsp Florida Water
  2. 3 drops rosemary oil
  3. 2 tbs eucalyptus
  4. 3 drops vervain oil
  5. 1 tsp mint
  6. 2 cups Epsom salt

Place all ingredients in a hot bath and allow them to steep in the water for about five minutes prior to getting in. Once your body is soaking in the bath mixture focus your intentions on cleansing away all that no longer services you.
