Mercury X Gemini AND Taurus by: Erin The Urban Mermaid

It’s that time of year again FireandLux Fam!

Mercury Rx is back in action as of May 10, 2022, and will be creating its usual upheaval and uncomfortableness until June 2, 2022.

In 2022, when Mercury decides to figuratively move backward, it will pass through both Air and Earth signs shaking up half the elements in the Zodiac.

Let’s see what it’s looking like for us this time around. . .

Mercury is pretty infamous and pretty well known.

It rules all things communication, our thought process, how we receive and process information, the little details of life, short term travel, small pets, contracts and even aspects of our health.

Mercury rules over Gemini and Virgo, and their respective houses, the third house, the “House of Communication” and the sixth house, the “House of Health”.

There’s just lots of little nooks and crannies of our life that when this planet goes retrograde, can kinda blow up haha!

A little run down on Gemini and Taurus, if you haven’t gotten to know them well yet…

Gemini is the third sign of the zodiac and Mutable Air Sign. Ruled by Mercury, Gemini is all about communication, ideas and being in your mental. They are quite adaptable to changes, flirty, fun, trendy, quick witted, social butterflies, fast paced and intriguing.

At their best, Gemini is sharp as a tact and the definition of on point. But their shadows are that they can be indecisive, cheaters, liars, manipulators of information, untrustworthy, hard to get close to and disingenuous.

Taurus is the second sign of the zodiac, ruled by Venus and is a Fixed Earth sign.

Taurus is a grower, what you give them will blossom. They are steadfast, strong, persevere yet creative, sensual, romantic and grounded. Taurus lives life through their senses. They connect powerfully with Mother Nature. But they can be stubborn, unmovable and even stuck at times. They are creatures of habit and loyalty and place a lot of worth on things of value and possessions.

It’s the second time around for the shift from Air signs to Earth signs in Mercury Rx.

What will it look like now?

Mercury will start off in Gemini which will be highly charged given it’s at home. Communication and how we process and receive information is really at the forefront. It’s a good time to be doing a lot less talking and a lot more listening. We will be susceptible to information overload and feeling bombarded, burn out can happen.

SLOOOOW DOWN.

Meditation will be your bestie this time around so you can avoid jumping to conclusions and rash decision making. Pay attention to your dreams, don’t take them too literal but look out for signs and symbols and messages.

I am really feeling our mental health will be a priority here. Anything you’ve neglected about it in the past will surface and it’s time to face your shadows. As hard as it is, it’s one of those things you want to put the effort to work through so you’re BETTER on the other side of it.

Mercury stays in Gemini until May 22, 2022, and finishes off in Taurus thru June 2, 2022.

While in Taurus, it’s time to reevaluate some of those long-term goals you’ve been working for.

If a wrench gets thrown into some plans, can you trust the Divine that it is still unfolding for you?

Mercury is a little uneasy in Taurus because Taurus likes to take things slow and Mercury is a mover and a doer. This may actually be telling us that it is time to slow down.

I stress the aspect of burn out again. Coming out of Mercury in Gemini there’s a tendency to just GO and we need to replenish.

It’s also a time for some financial organization. Anytime there is a Rx in an Earth sign money and values come to light. Check spending habits, review bills, are there things you’re being charged for you don’t use? Get yourself organized. Watch out for overspending on unnecessary luxury items and go easy on the treat yo’self… Taurus likes the highlife but Rx time isn’t for that.
