Mercury is back on the move FireandLux fam, leaving its home sign of Gemini and finding itself in emotional Cancer.

Mercury will reside in this watery sign from July 5, 2022, until July 19, 2022.

Let’s see what’s going down this time around. . .

Mercury is the curious planet that rules over all things communication and details. It’s a tedious little bugger, much like the signs of Gemini and Virgo, in which it rules.

When we think communication, it’s not just speaking but listening, writing and processing information as well. It also is in charge of:

short-term travel
our body and its health
intellect
memory
logic
things we busy ourselves with
small tasks
and technology

I think of all the little things in life and usually that falls under Mercury’s jurisdiction.

Cancer is the 4th sign of the zodiac, a Cardinal Water sign, ruled by the Moon herself. Together, the Moon and Cancer rule over the 4th house, the “House of Family”.

Cancer is the Empath of the Zodiac with the ability to just feel things and feel what others are feeling as well, a gift and curse if that is not managed properly.

Cancer rules their homes like a castle, it is their sanctuary and where they are in their comfort zone. Many are known to be extremely domestic, maternal and tough on the outside- soft on the inside, much like their symbol, the crab.
Cancer loves to relive old times but is often stuck in the past. They are moody, defensive, antisocial, anti self-accountable and known to side step through conflict rather than face it head on when it comes to their shadows.

How will Mercury in Cancer pan out?

The focus for this transit will be how can we clearly discern and articulate our emotions? Because Mercury is all Head and Cancer is all Heart, a balance must come to in order for these two to create some harmony. But this gives us the opportunity to make some sense of our feelings, which we all probably need. We may find ourselves being able to connect clearer with our inner voice and make intuitive decisions.

We might find ourselves wanting to spend more time at home and more time nourishing our close and personal relationships, especially our family.
- Communication and family can be very difficult waters to tread but this is a golden opportunity to harness this energy and use it to heal. This is a time for softening, not be so defensive or argumentative.
- Remember our vulnerability is our strength, not our weakness.

Be cautious of course, as any other transit, of the shadows.

Being overly sensitive or constantly emotionally dumping on people (always ask permission to be in that space first!) and avoiding your emotions all can come up.
I think we all know by now we truly cannot avoid anything, especially our emotions, they will always resurface somehow or another.
Also be weary of being too defensive, way too moody and getting stuck in the past when it comes to nostalgia.
