Mercury RX Taurus 2023 By: Erin The Urban Mermaid
April 22, 2023Like the energy wasn’t wild enough, right in the middle of eclipse season we have Mercury Retrograde in Taurus. Geez, the period of no planets retrograde sure went by fast!
As of April 21, 2023, Mercury is Retrograde in the sign of Taurus, where it will stay in this backward motion until May 14th when it goes direct, but will stay in Taurus until June 11th.
Technically Mercury entered Taurus, not in Rx fashion on April 3rd, so this is a VERY long time to stay in one sign.
What is going on here. . .?
Here is a very quick recap of the infamous Mercury and who and what it rules:
- Mercury is the natural ruler of Gemini and Virgo and their coordinating houses, the third house (communication) and the sixth house (health/habits).
- Mercury is about communication, the processing of information, our thoughts, how we speak and how we listen, our health, logic, jobs, contracts, short term travel and really all the little things and tasks in life.
- This may seem tedious, which Mercury is, but life is made up of both the big and little things.
Now that ol’ bull Taurus.
Taurus is the 2nd sign of the Zodiac, ruled by Lady Venus. Together, Taurus and Venus rule the second house, the “House of Values”. This can include:
- money
- possessions
- tangible and material assets
- beauty
- aesthetics
- our connection to nature
- the luxuries of life…
- but more importantly, how we value ourselves and our own self worth
You may know Taurus to be stubborn, which they can truly be an unmovable mountain when out of alignment, but this is because they are a fixed Earth sign.
Taurus loves to be comfortable, they live life through their senses, are sensual and strong at the same damn time and focus on achieving long term goals. Taurus can enjoy a filet mignon while sippin’ Dom P. and wearing Gucci shoes, but they can also enjoy a lovely stroll in nature, smelling the flowers and getting some sunshine on their face.
Taurean’s pet peeve is having to go back and do something over again, so if they are taking their time to make a move, they are truly thinking it over. But do not mistake their slowness for stupidity, they are methodical AF always having a plan.
What’s the DL on Mercury Rx in Taurus?
This one may feel like it hits hard because Mercury isn’t exactly comfortable in Taurus, so if you feel like you’re floating away and not able to be grounded, this is why.
Now, what is key to remember is…
- Mercury Rx is our mirror and it is reflecting back what is not working for us, what was previously hidden or what needs our attention.
- Pay close attention to your home this time around, things may start to break or bust and as annoying as that is, wouldn’t we rather get a new fridge than have everything in it spoiled, eat it, then get sick?
Probably what is concerning everyone most is its effect on our cash moneyyyy.
- It’s best to make sure you are very financially organized (not into the word “budget” it has a negative undertone) and living within your means in case something comes up.
- Review your finances and be real with yourself and your lifestyle.
This transit can have us wayyyy over-spend since Taurus likes a touch of lux.
- It can also have us stuck when it comes to our thoughts. Meaning unable to make decisions either way (not indecisive, just unable), procrastinating, taking extra long to go over things and being straight up stubborn.
- You may also feel like you are having difficulties coming to mutual resolutions or like you are at a crossroads or crux, this is because this transit sits at 15 degrees, the halfway point.
- Try to remain as open as you can this time around and most important: LISTEN with an open mind and heart. Don’t write things off at first glance, consider all possibilities.
Although tests and challenges during this time inevitably arise, it’s just a reflection for us.
